Shahd Karaeen is a Palestinian writer and poet whose work explores trauma, survival, and reclaiming voice. Born in Jerusalem and based in the United Kingdom, she writes about identity, resilience, and the hidden realities of abuse.

For years Hope survived in silence.
When the truth of her past begins to surface, she must face the control that shaped her life and the courage it takes to reclaim her voice.

“I had to put it down more than once. It felt too close to home — in a way that was honest, not dramatic.”

— Survivor currently in refuge

“I kept thinking, ‘Yes. That’s exactly how it feels.’ The confusion, the doubt, the isolation — it’s all there.”

— Domestic abuse survivor

“Leaving wasn’t the end. This story shows what comes after, and that part felt painfully true.”
